Poor reception inside metal gate housings becomes a non-issue once the antenna sits outside on a nearby pole. Five feet of coax reaches nearby bulkhead connectors while avoiding signal loss from long cable runs. A U-bolt simplifies attachment to round metal posts or fence pipe. Omnidirectional pickup covers transmitters approaching from either side of the property. Technicians use this as a convenient mid-range upgrade over local whip antennas without routing extra cable.
